Product Information

V Belt is a versatile and effective component for transferring power between shafts. It utilizes a unique trapezoidal design that locks securely onto the shaft’s sheaves. This special shape allows the V-belt to fit snugly in the wheel groove, enhancing surface contact and providing better stability.

When tension is applied, vertical forces perpendicular to the top of the V-belt press its sides into the wheel groove. As these forces build, the belt wedges more firmly into the groove, increasing the friction between the belt and the groove surface. This enhanced grip helps to improve torque transmission and reduce power loss due to slippage.

The ability to transmit greater loads is due to the creation of multiple friction forces. the effectiveness of the V-belt is largely dependent on how firmly it engages the groove under increased tension.
